Japan Again! - Tokyo Food - Oct 09

Tokyo Day 2 - The eating begins..

We awoke on day two with beautiful weather and this fantastic view over Shinjuku;

We had a whole day at our leisure in Tokyo and it was obvious what we needed to do; hit up the Depachiko food courts. The nearest department store was Keio and we quickly rounded up a selection of sandwiches, roast meats, sushi, and the oh so beautiful and oh so delicious cakes. The only problem we then faced was where to eat all this! Too hungry to locate a nearby park we settled on the rooftop. The Keio store had a little playground area and picnic tables on the roof, hopefully we were ok by eating our food up here and not breaking some rule! The rest of the day was spent shopping in Shinjuku, and then in Shibuya. That night we also had dinner from the food courts, which made my bf happy to no end. Ever since returning from Japan he turned into a food maniac, and he was relishing the chance to go back and eat as much as he could. In fact, the last night we were in Tokyo on our first trip I had left him to his own devices as I went looking for shoes, and when I turned up at the hotel room I was greeted with the sight of him, passed out on the bed in his underwear, while all around him on the bed, on the floor, on the tables there were food packets, half eaten cakes, food court plastic bags, pork buns with the insides sucked out, half eaten mochis and sushi. Turns out he went wild and bought as much food as he could, but then realised he wouldn't be able to fit it all in, so he had to eat halves of everything and suck out all the good bits. Yes, Japan created a monster....

This time I thought I might attempt to get something a little healthier.. check out those grapes!!!
