Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City

View from Saigon Saigon

We didn't have much time in Ho Chi Minh City. We arrived in the afternoon and my friend was due to depart the next morning. I had an extra half day in the city till my flight left as we were returning to different states. We checked into the Duxton Hotel which is in a great location, but is a bit old, and started to explore the city. As it was the last day for my friend we spent quite a bit of time shopping and stocking up on cheap clothes and knick knacks.

The main thing we were looking forward to was night-time and checking out the many rooftop bars in the city. Armed with a map we headed to Saigon, Saigon, Sheraton Saigon and Rex Hotel. Being a monday night it wasn't very lively at any of these bars but the views were amazing and the drinks cheap. On a good night I can imagine these bars would be a fantastic place to hang out.

And so, after a little over 12 days our trip to Vietnam had come to an end. We both had an amazing time, met some lovely people, ate some wonderful food and had our fair share of interesting stories for back home. I might make a separate post after this with some highlights and advice :)
